UTMB / HR Employee Injury Management - Stretching before Healthwalk

As a part of Human Resources, Employee Injury Management provides the University with a variety of services.

Assists employees who have sustained work-related injuries/illnesses through the Workers' Compensation Insurance process.  Workers' Compensation Insurance is provided for all employees on the UTMB payroll who sustain a compensable injury or acquire a bona fide occupational disease while performing assigned job duties. 

Assists employees with temporary / disabling conditions through the Temporary Job Modification process.   A temporary job modification provides modification of job tasks and/or job schedule that allows employees with temporary disabling medical conditions to perform their job.

Coordinates ergonomic job-site evaluations.  Ergonomic awareness is the first step towards improving health and productivity. The goal of an ergonomic job-site evaluation is to allow for a more adjustable, supportive, and comfortable work area and place the employee in a neutral, low-stress posture.

Maintains record of all reported employee injuries / illnesses as required by law.

Provides annual supervisor training regarding Workers' Compensation Insurance procedures as well as the Rules and Regulations of the Texas Workers' Compensation Act.
