Organizational Development, Training and Recognition

Organizational Development, Training and Recognition (ODT&R) is a division of UTMB's Human Resources designed to support the University's Core Purpose. Please browse through our pages to view some of the valuable opportunities we offer!

We provide and facilitate developmental opportunities through educational and consultative services to all levels of UTMB staff. We offer all UTMB employees Organizational and Professional training based on UTMB's Core Values. 

We continue to restructure our curriculum and revamp our classes to better align with UTMB's institutional needs. Please visit our website often, as our curriculum is updated and published quarterly. You will find information on the tremendous leadership series offered, with courses designed for various levels of staff in the Emerging Leader,  Supervisor Certification and Manager Certification Programs. We also continue to offer our "tried and true" programs including Increasing Personal Effectiveness, Birkman Assessments and 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Please visit the Values in Professionalism (VIP) page for valuable information on the new VIP program! This program is a follow up to the very popular Principle's of Service training that over 10,000 UTMB employees attended.

All of ODT&R's courses are considered professional development courses. If you hold licensure for a profession that requires continuing education units, please note that all of our certificates will now include a section indicating classroom hours. These hours can be considered "Type II" for physicians, "professional development hours" or "contact hours" dependent upon your licensure terminology.
