JOB SUMMARY:
To assist in providing opportunities for children to gain a sense of mastery,
through play and learning experiences, and encouraging family and peer
interaction.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Routinely provides age appropriate care for
various age groups.

Facilitates planned and spontaneous
activity.

Encourages socialization and interaction
between patients
-
Encourages caregiver involvement in patient
daily activities by extending invitations to activity rooms and informing
caregivers of resources available.

Delivers developmentally appropriate
toys/activities to patients’ rooms as requested by Child Life Specialist,
Nursing, or self-referrals.

Maintains a safe, clean, and well organized
activity room environment.

Assesses inventory of supplies, restocks
daily, and reports supplies that need to be ordered as needed and evidenced
by appropriate supplies levels.

Safely assists patients to and from activity
room/special events.

Trains and provides ongoing supervision of
volunteers in activity rooms.

Adheres to internal controls and reporting
structure.
MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

Performs related duties as required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
High school or equivalent and one year related experience.
EQUIPMENT:
Standard office equipment.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:
Standard hospital and office environments.
