JOB SUMMARY: To coordinate anesthesia services and provide advanced technical skills in the preparation of all anesthesia equipment used during surgical and related medical procedures. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: High school or equivalent. Graduation from an accredited Anesthesia Technician training program or four years experience as a surgical or Anesthesia Technician in an operation room or clinic. EQUIPMENT: Standard office equipment. Standard anesthesia procedure equipment. Knowledge of indication and dosages of indicated drugs. WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION: Standard operating room, recovery room, intensive care environment, and special procedures areas. May be exposed to hazards resulting from toxic, explosive and inflammable gases. OTHER: Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification, may render this position security sensitive, and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215, Texas Education Code.
