Job Summary:
To provide patient care and technical skills in the operation of diagnostic radiographic equipment for diagnostic and evaluation purposes.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Practices proper entries and records on Radiology Information System and Hospital Information System.

Prepares patient for radiographic procedures by accurately assessing patient’s needs and providing patient education. (See attached age-specific addendum.)

Operates computer and radiographic equipment for image production, documentation of images, and performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.

Prepares patient’s films for interpretation by radiologist.

Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.

Practices safety measures in radiography and Environment of Care.

Participates in research projects.

Instructs students on clinical radiographic skills.

Applies the profession’s code of ethics in all aspects of practice.

Performs other related duties as required.

Provides leadership, guidance, and direction to other radiology personnel when required.
Required Education / Experience:
Associates degree or radiologic graduate of an accredited radiography program, ARRT registered and TDH certified. Two years of diagnostic radiographic experience.
Equipment:
Standard radiology and office equipment.
Working Environment:
Standard hospital environment.
Some lifting, moving, and positioning of patients and equipment.
Other:
Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to
this classification, may render this position security sensitive, and thereby
subject to the provisions of Section 51.215, Texas Education Code.
Any
qualifications to be considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimums
require the prior approval of the Chief Human Resources Officer.
