Job Summary:
To provide patient care and technical skills in the operation of a computed tomography (CT) scanner for diagnostic and evaluation purposes.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Practices proper entries and records on Radiology Information System and Hospital Information System.

Prepares patient for CT procedure by accurately assessing patient’s needs and providing patient education. (See attached age-specific addendum)

Operates computed tomography scanner for data acquisition, reconstruction of images, documentation of images, and performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.

Prepares patient’s films for interpretation by radiologist.

Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.

Practices safety measures in CT and Environment of Care.

Participates in research projects.

Instructs students on clinical CT skills.

Applies the profession’s code of ethics in all aspects of practice.

Performs other related duties as required.

Provides leadership, guidance, and direction to other CT personnel when required.
Required Education / Experience:
Associates degree or radiologic graduate of an accredited radiography program, ARRT registered and TDH certified. Two years of CT experience or graduate of CT training program with minimum of 500 clinical hours of CT training and one additional year of CT experience. Advanced ARRT in CT
required.
Equipment:
Standard CT and office equipment.
Working Environment:
Standard hospital environment. Some lifting, moving, and positioning of patients and equipment.

qualifications to be considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimums
