Job Summary:
To provide highly technical skills in the accurate delivery of radiation therapy treatments.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Assists the physicist in calibration of equipment, preparation of isodose curves, preparation of wedge, and compensating filters and data computer estimation.

Evaluates equipment and machine operation for quality assurance.

Assists or functions as radium curator.

Records important statistical information.

Prepares patient for radiotherapy.

Administers radiotherapy treatment to patient.

Applies simple surgical dressings.

Supervises follow-up program and observes patient’s clinical progress.

Consults with physician concerning treatment.

Maintains daily records and monitors treatment charts for adherence to regular port films.

Adheres to internal controls established for department.

Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
Associate’s degree or radiologic graduate and ARRT registered. One year related experience.
Equipment:
Standard radiation equipment.
Working Environment:
-
Standard hospital environment.
-
Minimal exposure to ionizing radiation.

Some lifting, moving, and positioning of patients and equipment.
