Job Summary:
To provide patient care and technical skills in the operation of breast imaging equipment for diagnostic and evaluation purposes.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Practices proper entries and records on Radiology Information System and Hospital Information System.

Prepares patient for breast imaging procedure by accurately assessing patient’s needs and providing patient education. (See attached age-specific addendum.)

Operates breast imaging equipment for data acquisition, reconstruction of images, documentation of images, and performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.

Prepares patient’s films for interpretation by radiologist.

Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.

Practices radiation safety measures in breast imaging and Environment of Care.

Participates in research projects and instructs students on clinical breast imaging skills.

Applies the profession’s code of ethics in all aspects of practice.

Performs other related duties as required.

Provides leadership, guidance, and direction to other breast imaging personnel when required.
Required Education / Experience:
Associates degree or radiologic graduate of an accredited radiography program, ARRT registered, and TDH certified. Two years of breast imaging experience or graduate of a breast imaging program with minimum of 100 clinical hours of breast imaging training and one additional year of breast imaging experience. Advanced ARRT in mammography required.
Equipment:
Standard breast imaging and office equipment.
Working Environment:
Standard hospital environment. Some lifting, moving, and positioning of patients and equipment.
