Job Summary:
To provide patient care and technical skills in the operation of a magnetic resonance imaging
(MRI) scanner for diagnostic and evaluation purposes.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Practices proper entries and records on Radiology Information System and Hospital Information System.

Prepares patient for MRI procedure by accurately assessing patient’s needs and providing patient education. (See attached age-specific addendum)

Operates magnetic resonance imaging scanner for data acquisition, reconstruction of images, and documentation of images, and performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.

Prepares patients films for interpretation by radiologist.

Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.

Practices safety measures in MRI and Environment of Care.

Participates in research projects.

Instructs students on clinical MRI skills.

Applies the profession’s code of ethics in all aspects of practice.

Performs other related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
Associates degree or radiologic graduate of an accredited radiologic health science program and ARRT registered. One year MRI experience or graduate of MRI training program with minimum of 500 clinical hours of MRI training.
Equipment:
Standard MRI and office equipment.
Working Environment:
Standard hospital environment. Some lifting, moving, and positioning of patients and equipment.
