Job Summary:
To provide patient care and technical skills in the operation of nuclear medicine equipment for diagnostic and evaluation purposes.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Practices proper entries and records on Radiology Information System and Hospital Information System.

Prepares patient for nuclear medicine procedures by accurately assessing patient’s needs and providing patient education. (See attached age-specific addendum)

Operates computer and nuclear medicine equipment for data acquisition, reconstruction of images, documentation of images, and performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.

Prepares patient’s films for interpretation by nuclear medicine physician.

Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.

Practices safety measures in the nuclear medicine and Environment of Care.

Participates in research projects.

Instructs students on clinical nuclear medicine skills.

Applies the profession’s code of ethics in all aspects of practice.

Performs other related duties as required.

Provides leadership, guidance and direction to other nuclear medicine personnel when required.
Required Education / Experience:
Associates degree or equivalent in related field. Graduate of an accredited nuclear medicine program, NMTCB or
ARRT-N registered, and TDH certified. Two years of nuclear medicine experience.
Equipment:
Standard nuclear medicine and office equipment.
Working Environment:
Standard hospital environment. Some lifting, moving, and positioning of patients and equipment.
