Job Summary:

To provide assistance in the performance of radiologic examinations of hospital and clinic patients.

Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Assists in preparing room for radiologic procedures by ensuring required supplies are available.
Assists in preparing patient for radiologic exam by accurately assessing patient’s needs and providing patient education as needed (see age-specific criteria).
Distributes clean linen to rooms, removes soiled linen, and disposes of them properly.
Assists in preparing patient’s films for interpretation as needed.
Assists with scheduling of patients as needed.
Practices safety measures in Radiology and Environment of Care.
Performs other related duties as required.

Required Education / Experience:

High school or equivalent. No experience required.

Equipment:

Standard radiology and office equipment.

Working Environment:

Standard hospital environment. Some lifting, moving, and positioning of patients and equipment may be required.

Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification, may render this position security sensitive, and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215, Texas Education Code.

Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimums require the prior approval of the Chief Human Resources Officer.
