JOB SUMMARY:

To provide advanced professional skills in coordinating and administering complex therapeutic and/or clinical education programs in physical therapy.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Plans, directs, coordinates, implements, and evaluates a variety of complex physical therapy programs.
• Plans and provides clinical education programs for students.
• Coordinates patient care programs with other hospital services.
• Maintains communication with physicians and other health care workers regarding treatment and planning for patients within the specialty area. (Medicare guidelines)
• Assists in establishment of departmental objectives, policies, and procedures.
• Provides in-service in area of clinical specialty.
• Develops new techniques in area of specialization.
• Maintains accurate patient records.
• Adheres to internal controls established for department.

MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Performs related duties as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Master’s degree or equivalent in related field and three years related experience.  Licensed or eligible for license in the State of Texas.

EQUIPMENT:

Standard physical therapy equipment.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Standard physical therapy environment.
