JOB SUMMARY:

Directs the evaluation, development, coordination, and implementation of physical therapy intervention to patient advocate assuring the delivery of physical therapy meets legal, ethical, and institutional standards while adhering to the philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department and organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Evaluates the potential of patient to benefit from physical therapy program.
• Plans and administers treatment programs for patients.
• Consults with physicians regarding patient evaluation and treatment.
• Observes the reactions and progress of patients, modifying the treatment as necessary to achieve desired results.
• Participates in planning for post-hospital follow-up call of patient.
• Participates in rounds with physicians.
• Keeps accurate patient records, including charges for services. (Medicare guidelines)
• Assists with research endeavors of clinic.
• Adheres to internal controls established for department.

MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

·        Performs related duties as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Master's degree or equivalent in related field and no experience required.  Licensed or eligible for license in the State of Texas.

EQUIPMENT:

Standard physical therapy equipment.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Standard physical therapy environment.
