JOB SUMMARY:

To provide professional skills in therapeutic programs and clinical educational programs within the Department of Occupational Therapy.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

• Implements therapeutic programs in compliance with departmental objectives, policies, procedures, priorities, and professional standards.
• Responsible for reports to physicians regarding patients’ statuses and records and reports required by the unit.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Assists with and participates in continuing education and in-service programs.
• Contributes to evaluation of staff performance.
• May provide direct supervision in the clinical education of students.
• Adheres to internal controls established for department.

MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Performs related duties as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Master's degree in related field and no experience required.  Certified OT and licensed or eligible for license in the State of Texas.

EQUIPMENT:

Standard occupational therapy equipment.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:

Standard occupational therapy environment.
