Job Summary:
To provide professional and administrative management skills in directing speech-language and audiology programs.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Manages daily operations of speech-language or audiology services.

Supervises clinical staff engaged in patient care services.

Establishes, implements, and reviews section objectives, in conjunction with department and hospital goals.

Assists in the development of productivity standards and monitors clinician and section productivity in relation to targeted efficiency.

Coordinates the recruitment, evaluation, and professional development of staff.

Acts as liaison with other departments, physicians, other specialists, and outside agencies.

Assists in the development and interpretation of departmental policies and procedures.

Provides patient evaluation and treatment services, employing techniques consistent with age specific concerns for the following age groups: neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric as defined in the position addendum.

Identifies appropriate internal controls for department; provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance.

Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
Master's degree in related field and four years related experience.
Certification of Clinical Competency in Audiology from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association,
and License or eligible for License from the Texas State Board of Examiners in Speech Pathology and Audiology.
Equipment:
Standard speech-language and hearing disorder equipment.
Working Environment:
Standard clinical environment.
Other:

Any
qualifications to be considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimums
