Job Summary:

To provide technical skills in the preparation of all respiratory care equipment used during setup, testing, and delivery of equipment to PCS Clinical Staff.

Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Receives, unpacks, and shelves incoming supplies.
Maintains storage space in a clean and orderly condition.
Clerical duties include checking materials received against invoices and checking weights and quantities received.
Adheres to internal controls established for the department as reflected on daily assignment sheets.
Assists in preparing all patient care areas for a variety of pulmonary care procedures.
Sets up pulmonary care machines, tracheal intubation equipment, monitoring equipment, and other supplies peculiar to pulmonary care.
Cleans pulmonary care machines and other equipment after pulmonary care procedures.
Maintains inventory records and orders, stores, and distributes pulmonary care supplies, drugs, and equipment.
Performs related duties as required.

Required Education / Experience:

High school or equivalent and no experience required. Respiratory Care Assistant Certification.

Equipment:

Standard respiratory care equipment.

Working Environment:

Standard patient care environment. May be required to be on standby and work extended shifts in situations deemed necessary by the PCS Director or designate.

Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification, may render this position security sensitive, and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215, Texas Education Code.

Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimums require the prior approval of the Chief Human Resources Officer.
