Job Summary:
To provide professional, creative, and recreational experience of therapeutic value for hospitalized and clinic pediatric patients.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Functions as the primary caregiver of the Child Life Program.

Interacts with pediatric patients and their family members.

Assists patients in maintaining age-appropriate interaction.

Responsible for clinical planning, pediatric patient teaching, evaluating patient response, and documentation.

Seeks to continue own professional education process and assists with education of members, students, and volunteers as related to the therapeutic care of pediatric patients.

Ensures safe patient care in areas of responsibility.

Facilitates communication and professional working relationships with other personnel involved with pediatric patients.

Initiates constructive approaches to problem identification and solutions.

Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Child Psychology or a related field. No experience required.
Equipment:
Standard office equipment.
Working Environment:
Standard child life therapy environment.
Other:
