Job Summary:

To facilitate a healthier and more productive workforce by offering fitness and health related programs for employees.

Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

  • Provides fitness evaluations and exercise prescriptions to employees and monitors the progress of the individual over a period of time
  • Coordinate the Health Risk Appraisal program, providing testing, information, and guidance to employees regarding their risk factors.
  • Oversees the Smoking Cessation Program, providing guidance and leadership to the coordinating staff.
  • Organizes and implements other programs that offer educational and practical information on nutrition and exercise.
  • Organizes the Student Enrichment Program.
  • Provides fitness and health related seminars and presentations.
  • Quantifies benefits of programs for employees and students on the hospital's bottom-line and presents these findings to professional journals and interested groups.
  • Identifies appropriate internal controls for department; provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Required Education / Experience:

Master's degree in a health-related field. One year of experience in fitness evaluation. CPR certification. American College of Sports Medicine certification. 

Equipment:

Standard exercise equipment.

Working Environment:

Standard fitness center environment.
