Job Summary:

To provide advanced professional skills in the management of medical record systems.

Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

  • Supervises staff in preparing and analyzing medical documents.
  • Coordinates the work flow within the section and ensures that the quality and quantity conforms to established production standards.
  • Develops, implements and revises section policies, procedures, and production standards.
  • Interprets and administers personnel policies.
  • Manages the acquisition and maintenance of section equipment and supplies.
  • Controls the circulation of medical records and is responsible for releasing information to authorized individuals in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Collects and analyzes patient and institutional data.
  • Represents Medical Records in the presentation of records that are subpoenaed by the courts.
  • Identifies appropriate internal controls for department; provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Required Education / Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field and two years related experience.
