JOB SUMMARY:

Serves as a coordinator / facilitator of quality assessment activity to one or more clinical departments.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Organizes quality assessment activities for one or more clinical departments.
  • Attends departmental quality assessment meetings and Mortality and Morbidity conferences.
  • Collects data, designs studies and conducts data analysis.
  • Educates and assists clinical departments in developing appropriate ongoing quality assessment / monitoring programs.
  • Ensures compliance of areas of responsibility with HCFA and JCAHO requirements.
  • Provides input to team's monthly report to Assistant Director.
  • Participates in cross-departmental team problem resolution.
  • May facilitate process improvement teams.
  • Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.

MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs related duties as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

High school or equivalent.  LVN and five years clinical nursing experience; or RN and three years clinical nursing experience; or MRA and five years experience.  

EQUIPMENT:

Standard office equipment.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:

Standard hospital, clinical, laboratory and/or office environments. May be exposed to such occupational hazards such as communicable diseases, harmful chemicals, and/or disoriented or combative patients. 

OTHER:

Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification, may render this position security sensitive, and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215, Texas Education Code.
