Job Summary:
To provide professional skills with direct patient contact and physician interaction in the processing and distribution of ambulatory prescriptions and clinical services.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Compounds and dispenses prescribed ambulatory prescriptions with direct patient interaction ensuring compliance with all regulatory agents.

Monitors and evaluates patient's drug therapy and communicates evaluation to appropriate patient care team, including any adverse drug reactions and/or interactions.

Provides medication counseling to patients and answers drug information queries from health care providers and patients.

Participates as a member of the Patient Care Management Team to ensure appropriate and cost-effective medication therapy.

Consults with physicians in the management of patient's medication regimen to ensure appropriate cost effective therapy.

Manages technical personnel in assisting with the filling of prescriptions.

Adheres to internal controls established for department.

Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
Bachelor's degree in pharmacy. No experience required. Current licensure or eligible for state licensure from the State Board of Pharmacy.
Equipment:
Standard pharmaceutical equipment.
Working Environment:
Standard hospital pharmacy environment.
Other:
Failure to obtain licensure within the probationary period could result in termination.
