Job Summary:

To provide advanced technical research skills in performing laboratory procedures.

Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

• Plans and coordinates the details of assigned research projects.
• Performs laboratory test procedures of a moderately complex nature within the scope of experience.
• Oversees the assembly and operations of laboratory apparatus and equipment within scope of training.
• Develops and modifies computer programs.
• Compiles, tabulates, and reports data of laboratory procedures.
• Recognizes factors that affect measurements and results and takes appropriate action.
• Demonstrates laboratory technical skills to new employees and students.
• May supervise support staff.
• Reviews scientific literature.
• Adheres to internal controls established for department.
• Performs related duties as required.

Required Education / Experience:

Bachelor's degree in a basic science or equivalent and two years related experience.

Equipment:

Standard laboratory equipment.
