Job Summary:

To provide basic skills in performing laboratory procedures. 

Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

• Performs laboratory test procedures within scope of training.
• Follows established procedures for collecting and processing biological specimens for analysis.
• Recognizes factors that affect measurements of results and takes action according to predetermined protocols.
• Assists in compilation, tabulation, and preliminary analysis of data.
• Operates a variety of laboratory equipment.
• Recognizes equipment malfunctions and makes minor modifications and repairs.
• Performs routine quality control and maintains accurate records.
• Utilizes computer systems.
• Adheres to internal controls established for department.
• Performs related duties as required.

Required Education / Experience:

At least three years of college education with anticipated completion of basic course work towards bachelor's degree in Medical Technology. No experience required.

Equipment:

Standard laboratory equipment.
