JOB SUMMARY: To provide advanced technical skills in the diagnostic study of cells. MAJOR DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS:
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in related field and one year related experience. ASCP certified or eligible. (Note: Bachelor's degree is not required if ASCP certified cytotechnologist graduated from cytotechnology programs before the year of 1988). EQUIPMENT: Microscope, centrifuges, filtration apparatus, automatic stainer, chemical reagents, and pipettes. WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Standard hospital, clinical and/or laboratory environment. OTHER: Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification, may render this position security sensitive, and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215, Texas Education Code. ANY QUALIFICATIONS TO BE CONSIDERED AS EQUIVALENTS IN LIEU OF STATED MINIMUMS REQUIRE THE PRIOR APPROVAL OF THE CHIEF HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER.
