Job Summary:
To provide management and technical skills for directing the activities of a histoanatomy laboratory.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Supervises and participates in fixing, embedding, cutting and staining anatomical tissues for teaching purposes.

Trains new employees.

Schedules activities of subordinates.

Demonstrates histologic techniques to medical students.

Assists medical students in their examination of histoanatomy slide collection.

Requisitions supplies and equipment.

Maintains quality control.
-
Researches professional publications in order to remain current on specialized procedures.

Consults with faculty on instructional plans to determine the necessity for special stains and projects.

Adheres to internal controls established for department.

Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
High school or equivalent and four years related experience. ASCP certified.
Equipment:
Standard laboratory equipment.
Working Environment:
Standard hospital, clinical and/or laboratory environment.
