Job Summary:
To provide technical
skills in obtaining electrocardiographic tracings, routine exercise stress
testing, exercise stress testing with nuclear medicine, Holter Monitor
application and scanning of hospital and clinic patients.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:
- Gathers routine
personal information from patients.
- Prepares and instructs
patients on the proper procedures to follow.
- Performs stress /
nuclear stress tests with treadmill, bicycle or pharmacology, observing
tracings for abnormalities.
- Scans 24-hour Holter
Monitors, observing tracings for abnormalities.
- Transports portable
electrocardiograph to hospital units and administers electrocardiograms to
inpatients.
- Performs routine
maintenance work on equipment for proper operation.
- Collects and compiles
statistical data for monthly / annual reports.
- Adheres to internal
controls established for department.
- Performs related duties
as required.
Required Education / Experience:
High school or equivalent
and two years related experience.
Equipment:
Standard
electrocardiograph, stress test, and scanning equipment.
Working Environment:
Standard hospital and/or
clinical environment.
