Job Summary:
To provide basic technical
skills in obtaining electrocardiographic tracings of hospital and clinical
patients to determine heart-muscle variations.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:
- Gathers routine
personal information from patients.
- Prepares and instructs
patients on the proper procedures to follow.
- Attaches electrodes to
specified areas of the body.
- Observes electrical
output for conformance to standards.
- Records proper
identification.
- Transports portable
electrocardiograph to hospital wards and administers electrocardiograms to
patients who are not ambulatory
- Performs routine
maintenance work on equipment for proper operation.
- Adheres to internal
controls established for department.
- Performs related duties
as required.
Required Education / Experience:
High school graduation or
equivalent. No experience required.
Equipment:
Standard
electrocardiograph equipment.
Working Environment:
Standard hospital and / or
clinical areas.
