Job Summary:
To perform Nerve
Conduction Velocity studies of patients for use in diagnosis of neurological
disorders.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:
- Performs the Nerve
Conduction Velocity study as per written protocols.
- Applies standard
surface electrodes and completes the "Technician Impression" sheet
which serves as the preliminary report.
- Recognizes and corrects
electrical and electronic malfunction.
- Handles all insurance
claims and charges.
- Explains procedures to
patients, elicits and records medical history from patients and/or charts.
- Compiles statistics of
all tests performed on a monthly basis.
- Assists Neurology
physicians during electromyography studies.
- Adheres to internal
controls established for department.
- Performs related duties
as required.
Required Education / Experience:
Associate's degree or
equivalent and two years related experience.
Equipment:
All standard EMG/NCV
equipment.
Working Environment:
Standard hospital
environment.
Other:
