Job Summary:

To provide advanced technical skill in setting up and operating artificial kidney machines for treatment of patients with renal failure.

Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

  • Performs analysis and isolation of mechanical or electronic malfunctions.
  • Inspects and tests equipment and apparatus to ensure specified functional qualities.
  • Determines cause of malfunction.
  • Disassembles equipment and repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Reassembles equipment and adjusts and calibrates precision components.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and quality control.
  • Records all work performed such as results of tests, diagnosis and repairs.
  • Conducts staff training and in-services.
  • Responds to home patient problems.
  • Trains hemodialysis patients.
  • Adheres to internal controls established for department.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Required Education / Experience:

High school or equivalent and three years related experience.

Equipment: 

Electronic testing equipment.

Working Environment:

Standard hospital environment.
