Job Summary:
To provide supervisory
skills in the supply, preparation, and distribution of clinic supplies.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:
- Supervises personnel
involved in the storing, transporting, and preparing patients and specimens
and issuing supplies and equipment. Assures that standards are being
followed.
- Determines daily
staffing needs and assigns personnel accordingly.
- Instructs subordinates
in procedures and techniques.
- Interviews applicants
and makes recommendations for hiring.
- Recommends promotions,
merit increases, and disciplinary action.
- Handles complex
questions or problems regarding departmental policies and procedures.
- Prepares daily staffing
and activity reports.
- Performs related duties
as required.
Required Education / Experience:
High school or equivalent
and five years of experience.
Equipment:
Nursing service equipment and supplies. Any equipment used in the
Supply/Distribution area.
Working Environment:
Standard hospital, clinical and/or office environments. May be exposed to
such occupational hazards such as communicable diseases, harmful chemicals,
and/or disoriented or combative patients. Heavy lifting required.

Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to
this classification, may render this position security sensitive, and thereby
subject to the provisions of Section 51.215, Texas Education Code.
Any
qualifications to be considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimums
require the prior approval of the Chief Human Resources Officer.
