JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for student advising, recruitment and retention programs for the School of Allied Health Sciences providing systematic academic and career advisement through individual counseling and group workshops.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

·          Creates data-driven, systematic and successful student recruitment and advisement programs

·          Provide program information to potential students, current students and departmental faculty and staff by developing a comprehensive knowledge of the nature, functions and trends of the school’s programs

·          Provide and/or coordinates individual and group advisement to students experiencing academic difficulties

·          Develop and coordinates or facilitates content specific workshops  such as test taking, study skills, time management, stress management, and self esteem

·          Establish and refines the school’s recruitment plan, documenting and reporting on target prospective students, tracking applications and prioritizing programs

·          Provide and/or identifies appropriate resource persons to provide support services and remediation for students as needs emerge

·          Conduct exit interviews and surveys of graduating students and of those who leave prior to fulfilling commitments to graduate

·          Develop and produce brochures and develop and maintain web page

·          Develop and give presentations

·          Collect data and assists in preparation of grants and reports

·          Serve on school and institutional committees and task forces

·          Some travel and work required outside of normal work day for occasional recruiting event, orientation, commencement

 

MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

·          Performs related duties as required.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

·          Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Psychology, Health Care Administration, or related field

·          Three years experience in academic setting

 

EQUIPMENT:

Standard office equipment.

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:

·          Standard office environment. Some travel and work required outside of normal work day for occasional recruiting event, orientation, commencement
