JOB SUMMARY: 

To provide advanced professional skills in counseling and guidance, and in coordinating, developing, and administering counseling programs. 

MAJOR DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS: 

  • Directs, coordinates, develops, and implements counseling programs.

  • Conducts counseling and/or therapeutic interviews to assists employees, students, and other clients to gain insight into personal, social, educational, vocational, and related problems.

  • Assists individuals in determining and defining goals and planning action reflecting interests, abilities, and needs.

  • Formulates diagnosis and recommends remedial treatment or makes referrals to outside specialist when necessary.

  • Follows up on post counseling results.

  • Prepares statistical data and reports.

  • Analyzes counseling procedures and implements changes to improve quality of service.

  • Adheres to internal controls established for department.

  • Performs related duties as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: 

Master's degree in related field and three years related experience.  Licensed Mental Health Professional in the State of Texas. 

EQUIPMENT: 

Standard office equipment. 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: 

Standard hospital, clinical and/or office environment.

OTHER:
