Job Summary:
To provide business administration and technical support to the faculty and
principal investigators in the management of a clinical or basic science
research laboratory.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:
- Assures compliance with
accrediting agencies; interpret new and changing rules and regulations for
procedures manuals, quality assurance policies.
- Generates daily,
monthly, and annual activity reports as required by institutional, department,
or external governing agencies.
- Creates and maintains
operating budgets, manages grant money for research projects, handles billing
for testing costs, performs accounting.
- Maintains inventories,
procedures necessary equipment and supplies.
- Supervises technical
laboratory personnel with scheduling and assignment of work, hiring, salaries,
managing performance levels, and continuing education.
- Consults with director
on progress of research and planning future initiatives.
- Monitors data analysis
to evaluate trends or problem areas.
- Collaborates on various
research projects or pursue contract testing services with other institutional
departments or with external businesses.
- Adheres to internal
controls established by department.
- Performs other duties
as assigned.
Required Education / Experience:
Bachelors degree in basic science or business or equivalent with four years related experience.

Standard laboratory and/or office equipment.
