Job Summary:
To provide advanced engineering skills and direct supervisory support within a biomedical or clinical engineering laboratory, research or service setting.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Defines equipment problems, develops clinical testing procedures and analyzes results.

Tests equipment to ensure it meets specifications.

Evaluates and prepares reports of unique or recurrent equipment problems; adapts equipment for new or modified requirements.

May make recommendations for equipment purchases.

Defines research problems, develops and designs tests and procedures, and modifies design of programs as needed.

Performs statistical and other analyses and prepares technical reports regarding methodology and results.

May design hardware or software.

Collaborates interdepartmentally with faculty and management to design and modify procedures and equipment.

Adheres to internal controls established for department.

Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
Bachelor's degree in related field and five years related experience.
Equipment:
Standard laboratory, test, and/or office equipment.
Working Environment:
Standard engineering and/or office environment.
Other:

Any
qualifications to be considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimums
