Job Summary:
To provide biomedical/clinical engineering skills in either the purchasing and maintenance or interfacing of patient care laboratory equipment, or to provide technical support for biomedical research.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Evaluates the quality and performance of equipment being considered for purchase, ensures that equipment meets hospital specifications, prepares formal reports of equipment evaluations, and interacts with outside contractors performing maintenance and repairs on equipment.

Collects data according to prescribed methods, fabricates as necessary, and modifies computer programs to analyze data.

Provides design and fabrication instrument support capability as required.

Adheres to internal controls established for department.

Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field. No experience required.
Equipment:
Standard laboratory, test, and/or office equipment.
Working Environment:
Standard engineering and/or office environment.
Other:
