Job Summary:
To provide intermediate level technical skills needed in the analysis, maintenance, calibration, installation and modification of medical equipment and instrumentation.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Performs analysis and isolation of mechanical or electronic malfunctions.

Inspects and tests equipment and apparatus to ensure specified functional qualities according to blueprints or written specifications.

Examines and tests equipment to determine cause of malfunction or inaccuracy.

Disassembles equipment to locate malfunctioning components and repairs or replaces defective parts.

Reassembles equipment and adjusts and calibrates precision components to ensure specified operation.

Participates in the development of quality control and preventive maintenance programs.

Runs safety tests on potentially all medical equipment and to record documentation of all work performed, such as the results of tests, diagnosis and repairs.

Adheres to internal controls established for department.

Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
Associate's degree in electronics, biomedical technology and three years of related experience. Should have knowledge of physiology, anatomy and medical terminology.
Equipment:
Standard electronic testing equipment.
Working Environment:
Standard electronics environment.
