Job Summary:

To assist department division directors and faculty with current and planned research activities. 

Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

  • Works jointly with Division Directors to facilitate and support research.
  • Confers with principal investigators to formulate research and analyses plans.
  • Provides technical advice and assists in solving research related problems.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates research projects.
  • Serves as consultant and manager for designated research projects.
  • Manages, analyzes and interprets data utilizing statistical and data management software.
  • Participates in grant proposal preparation and development.
  • Develops and maintains research budgets and monitors expenses to better manage grant-related expenditures.
  • Assists graduate students with data management and analyses
  • Monitors the selection, evaluation, promotion, education and utilization of all data entry/research support staff, to better develop, plan and schedule the workflow of the department.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Required Education / Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field and four years of experience in programming activities, developing and validating questionnaires, directing large multi-faceted studies and managing research budgets. Knowledge of major database management/analyses systems (especially SAS and Excel) required. 

Equipment: 

Standard office equipment.

Working Environment:

Standard hospital, clinical and/or office environment.
