Job Summary:
To manage financial, administrative and other operational functions within the department.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Prepares departmental budgets, manages departmental funds and produces financial reports.

Maintains a cost accounting system for the effective cost recovery through an approved schedule of charges.

Assists in the development of long range projections and financial requirements of the department.

Assists in the preparation of institutional budget requests by providing the appropriate information.

Oversees the administration of all human resource related activities.

Responsible for the supervision and development of administrative staff.

Manages departmental computer operations to include: supervising equipment/software purchases; coordinating user training; and the implementation and operation of GCS software.

Works with Management Team to monitor space utilization and coordinate renovation activities.

Prepares policies and procedures and coordinates activities to ensure compliance with AAALAC standards.

Serves as a member of the ARC Management Team and actively engages in the process of team management.

Assists in the writing and preparation of grant proposals.

Identifies appropriate internal controls for department; provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance.

Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
Bachelor's degree in related field and four years related experience. Must have AALAS certification.
Equipment:
Standard office equipment.
Working Environment:
Standard office environment. Occasional exposure to laboratory animal facility environment.
