JOB SUMMARY:

Applies knowledge of engineering principles and practices in the monitoring of campus facilities, models, reports and completes trend analysis.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides engineering support in the planning, organizing, executing and coordinating of energy operations.

  • Develops energy use assessment documents.

  • Visually reviews and provides written comments of building operation environment.

  • Visits construction sites to determine compliance with design intent, identifies reporting discrepancies, errors and omissions and utilizes this input to update standards, processes and procedures.

  • Acts as departmental liaison with external consulting engineers and consultants.

  • Ensures compliance with applicable building codes and other regulatory requirements governing the provisions of design services and with departmental and institutional standards for facility projects.

  • Mentors engineering team members.

  • Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure

MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs related duties as required.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors degree in an Engineering or related field required.  One year of engineering experience.

 

EQUIPMENT:

Standard office equipment.  Autocad stations and standard engineering assessment tools.

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:

Standard hospital, clinical, laboratory, light industrial and/or office environments. May be exposed to such occupational hazards such as communicable diseases and harmful chemicals.   

 

OTHER:

Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification, may render this position security sensitive, and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215, Texas Education Code.
