JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the collaborative efforts of the Utilities Department and is the primary contact on Utility related matters.

 

MAJOR DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS:

  • Identifies and implements new approaches and techniques to solve problems.

  • Negotiates new utility rates.

  • Benchmarks with others to develop “best practice” energy management programs.

  • Ensures Utilities programs are effectively integrated with other FOAM, SS, and UTMB programs.

  • Develops and manages Utilities budget.

  • Develops and manages internal billing system and rate structure

  • Actively manages UTMB energy costs using advanced monitoring systems and proactive programs.

  • Prepares technical specs for equipment, repairs, and contracts.

  • Provides mediation and conflict resolution for work group.

  • Develops close working relationships with strategic customers and partners.

  • Identifies appropriate internal controls for process; provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance.

  • Supervises a Staff of utility system experts.

  • Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.

  • Performs related duties as required.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and six years of related experience.

 

EQUIPMENT:

Standard office equipment.

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Standard office, shop, and machine room environments
