JOB SUMMARY:
To provide specialized
skilled work associated with technically advanced systems (HVAC, high pressure
boilers, and electronics and DDC.
Responsible for providing specialized skill in the construction, operation and
maintenance of systems.
MAJOR DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS:

Performs work on the designing, installation, maintenance, and operation of
specialized systems at UTMB.

Coordinates commissioning of specialized systems on new construction or
renovation projects.

Maintains proper system operating parameters to maintain the integrity of
specialized systems.

Confers with users in order to gain an understanding of their needs and/or
provides technical advice.
-
Performs work from written or verbal instructions, specifications,
blueprints, or wiring diagrams.
-
Uses troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques to identify system problems.
-
Performs routine and preventive maintenance on specialized equipment and
systems.
-
Performs related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s degree or equivalent and three years
of related experience.
EQUIPMENT:
Standard office equipment.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Standard office environment.

Occasional exposure to construction environment.

Usual working conditions found in mechanical rooms, electrical and
electronic working conditions.

Exposure to adverse weather conditions, electrical hazards or temperature
extremes.
-
Proper safety and precaution must be closely observed when operating and
repairing specialized equipment and systems.

Climb ladders and stairways and work on building rooftops of high elevation.
-
Work in confined spaces such as ceilings, under floor crawlspaces, and
manholes.

May be required to work extended or rotating shifts.
