Directs and leads the compliance efforts for the department of Facilities and
Operations Management. Ensures applicable codes are reviewed, met, and
maintained for the entire institution. Assists with the Joint Commission
visits, ADA compliance issues, code analysis and recommendations for life safety
issues.

Provides
leadership for Facilities for campus-wide issues related to code compliance,
ADA and accessibility issues, and life safety issues.

Responsible
for keeping records of all code and life safety issues for the campus.

Collaborates
with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Maintenance Managers and
Utility Managers to maintain code-compliant facilities.
-
Reviews
drawings and research code issues related to new projects as well as for
renovations and provides recommendations as necessary.

Provides
leadership for FOAM in the Environment of Care Committee, including setting
direction and vision of committee.

Develops and
implements plans for improving the Environment of Care function on and off
campus.

Schedules,
coordinates, collects, reviews and disseminates data collected during
semi-annual Environmental Rounds.

Develops,
creates and maintains Microsoft Access databases for on/off campus EOC
Environmental Rounds Surveys.

Provides EOC
educational opportunities for UTMB staff throughout the clinical areas.

Presents EOC
improvement indicators and information to the Hospital Quality Care.
Committee quarterly.

Serves on the
JCAHO Hospital Steering and Task Force committees
-
Administrator
for the UTMB’s JCAHO Statement of Conditions for Life Safety to ensure
compliance.

Performs
annual Life Safety inspections at UTMB’s Off-Campus clinics throughout
Southeast Texas.

Serves as
member of EOC sub-committees for Safety, Life Safety, Utilities and
Security.

Creates,
deletes, and continuously updates UTMB’s preventive maintenance plans for
its facilities equipment.

Annually
updates FOAM calendar for Preventative Maintenance strategy of UTMB’s
Emergency power system.

Generates,
prints and distributes the weekly Preventative Maintenance work orders for
FOAM.

Generates
ad-hoc reports for FOAM (i.e. PM’s issued, Equipment Completion Reports,
Maintenance Area Workgroup completion reports, etc.).

Adheres to
internal controls and reporting structure.

Assists with
Life Safety budgeting and oversight of Life Safety projects

Performs
related duties as required.
Bachelor’s degree
or equivalent and three years of related experience.
Standard Office
