JOB SUMMARY:
Monitor, operate, troubleshoot and program
Building Automation Systems (BAS). Responsible for directing the efforts of
semi-skilled, skilled and journeyman level craftsmen in the maintenance and
repair of specialized equipment and systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Plans, supervises, assigns, schedules, monitors, trains and evaluates the
work of mechanics and operators.

Monitors the performance of personnel to achieve optimum safety,
reliability, and efficiency in maintenance of the facilities.

Programs all databases, including Critical Alarm points, start/stop
schedules for the Air Handlers, pumps, lighting controls and various HVAC
functions.

Programs all control sequences.

Programs night set back schedules for VAV and constant volume boxes, as
required by the UTMB Energy Policy in order to assure comfort as well as
maintain cost savings.

Reviews and analyzes energy management schedules and control sequences.

Makes recommendations as to possible ways to conserve more energy without
inconveniencing clients.

Determines need for programmatic changes.

Arranges for the procurement of materials and services.

Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the Building Automation
servers and client computers.

Assists engineers with the performance of systems and controls.

Collaborates with others to optimize project scheduling and prioritization.

Conducts in-service training on use of all BAS.

Manages the Info Center reports system and writes technical reports relating
to the energy management system.

Mentors and provides guidance for staff.

Assists with the training of other technicians.
MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Associates Degree in programming, computer
science, or a related field or equivalent and six years related experience.
EQUIPMENT:
Standard office equipment.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:
Standard office environments.
