JOB SUMMARY: To operate vehicles for patient transport within a correctional healthcare setting in a safe manner. To provide routine inspection and maintenance of vehicles. To provide diversified administrative, clerical, and technical assistance/service within the correctional healthcare setting.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent and three years related experience. Valid Texas Driver’s License required.
EQUIPMENT: Operation of 5,897 lb Patient Transport Vehicle with maximum patient load of six and a 7,250 lb Multiple Patient Vehicle with a maximum patient load of ten. Standard nursing/medical equipment used in transporting patients. Standard office equipment.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION: · Standard hospital, clinical, and office environments in both a correctional and free world setting. · Moderate to extreme physical effort may be required, such as walking, standing, performing CPR, and lifting materials, equipment, objects, and/or patients over 50 lbs. · May be exposed to such occupational hazards as communicable diseases, harmful chemicals, and/or disoriented/combative patients. · Driving vehicles under adverse weather conditions and emergency driving situations. · Rotating shifts may be required.
