Job Summary:
To coordinate, oversee and perform advanced technical tasks relating to daily operations and maintenance of specialized equipment and/or services such as asbestos abatement, and the testing and maintenance of emergency generators, sterilizers, etc.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Oversees and/or performs repairs and inspections of specialized equipment and/or services.

Maintains records of all inspections, repairs and/or services performed. Reviews records and other related information on a continual basis for recurring problems.

Performs or coordinates with contractors all maintenance, repairs and installations for specialized equipment and/or services.

Interfaces with Physical Plant Department and others to coordinate outages of equipment or services provided.

Maintains current knowledge of applicable codes, regulations and standards as required.

Maintains expertise in applicable existing and developing technology of equipment or services through training and related material.

Adheres to internal controls established for department.

Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
High school or equivalent and four years related experience. Maintains appropriate licenses or certificates.
Equipment:
Equipment, tools and materials associated with the specialized field and/or trade.
Working Environment:
Standard maintenance shop and field conditions including working at heights and in restricted spaces. May include exposure to dampness, dust, inclement weather, loud noise and fumes.
Other:
Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to
this classification, may render this position security sensitive, and thereby
subject to the provisions of Section 51.215, Texas Education Code.
Any qualifications to be
considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimums require the prior approval
of the Chief Human Resources Officer.
