Job Summary:

To oversee performance of preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance functions and to supervise, coordinate, and direct the activities of maintenance work crews.

Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

  • Coordinates and schedules preventive maintenance routines and repair work for assigned crew. Identifies labor and maintenance resources needed. Maintains records of work performance.
  • Oversees work of crew to maintain quality and quantity standards complying with applicable codes, regulations, and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assists craftsmen and maintenance leaders with troubleshooting emergency or complex repairs.
  • Screens job applicants and makes hiring recommendations to manager. With assistance from manager, handles personnel issues as necessary including counseling and disciplinary action.
  • Assists in coordination of maintenance work performed by contractors and in inspection of facilities being built or remodeled by contractors.
  • Oversees various administrative duties including ordering supplies and equipment, filling out work tickets, etc.
  • Identifies appropriate internal controls for department; provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Required Education / Experience:

Associate’s degree or equivalent in related field and 3 years of related experience.

Equipment: 

Standard equipment used in allied trades.

Working Environment:

Standard office and shop conditions.
