Job Summary:
Responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of UTMB vehicles while
anticipating and meeting customer needs, all in support of the Logistics
process.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:
- Works safely and in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and
policies.
- Keeps current and up to date with all required training and staying current in
field of expertise.
- Develops and maintains effective partnerships customers to proactively
understand customer needs.
- Adheres to internal controls established for process.
- Utilizes email and Internet for work related communications.
- Performs diagnosis, repair and maintenance on a variety of the following
motors, engines, and/or vehicles.
- Maintains appropriate vehicle records.
- Assists in the coordination of a preventive maintenance program for the UTMB
fleet.
- Assists in the coordination of process activities for the work team (e.g.,
team workload, work assignments, and team coverage).
- Stays current with applicable UTMB, State, and the Federal rules and
regulations.
- Helps to maintain the garage facility in a clean and organized fashion.
- Serves as a driver, transporting vehicles to and from local vendors and
departments.
- Prioritizes daily work assignments.
- Contributes ideas and suggestions for improvements to the process.
- Supports and assists in the cross training of team members.
- Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
- Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
- High School Diploma; one year of experience required.
- Valid Texas Drivers License.
- Fork lift Certification, except for mail (can be done on the job)
- UTMB Motor Vehicle Safety Course - except for Mail (can be done on the job)
- Minimum of one (1) ASE field certifications
