Job Summary:
To provide support for at-sea operations and related marine activities.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Conducts routine maintenance of all research vessels.

Participates in the planning and execution of open water voyages and the development of specific tasks for research purposed.

Operates the propulsion and safety equipment.
-
Assists with diving operations.

Operates outboard motor boats.
-
Adheres to internal controls established for department.

Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. No experience necessary.
Equipment:
Diesel engines, rigging, and standard maintenance equipment.
Environment:
Long hours while at sea and exposure to severe weather conditions.
Other:
Positions subject to DOT regulations which include drug and alcohol testing. Testing includes pre-employment, random and for cause.
Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to

subject to the provisions of Section 51.215, Texas Education Code.
Any
qualifications to be considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimums
require the prior approval of the Chief Human Resources Officer.
