Job Summary:

To provide quality service in the preparation, set-up and clean-up of catered events in accordance with department standards.

Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

  • Ensures proper food temperatures are maintained on all food items in accordance with department policy. Notifies management if equipment is not maintaining proper temperature.
  • Demonstrates correct use of utensils and serving sizes for portion control according to established procedure.
  • Responsible for prompt set-up and clean-up of catered events.
  • Ensures attractive garnishing and food display in accordance with department standards.
  • Ensures all items are delivered as requested by the customer.
  • Actively practices principles learned including, but not limited to, the following topics: universal precautions, patient rights, fire safety, disaster preparedness, general safety, hazard communication, continuous process improvement and HACCP.
  • Adheres to internal controls established for department.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Required Education / Experience:

High School or equivalent. Six months previous related food service experience.

Equipment:

Standard food preparation equipment and materials.

Working Environment:

Standard food preparation for hospital or clinical environment.

Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification, may render this position security sensitive, and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215, Texas Education Code.
