Job Summary:
To provide skilled manual services to assure clean, orderly and sanitary conditions in and around buildings.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:
- Cleans and services patient care areas, offices, auditoriums, hallways, stairways, restrooms, and other public areas as needed.
- Dust mops, wet mops, polish, buff, strips, and refinishes floors.
- Vacuums and shampoos carpets, rugs, and furniture.
- Cleans and disinfects walls, ceilings, and furniture.
- Cleans all horizontal and vertical surfaces as needed.
- Moves contaminated mattresses.
- Maintains housekeeping equipment and utility closets in an orderly and clean manner.
- Adheres to internal controls established for department.
- Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
Educated through the 8th grade and six months experience.
Equipment:
Standard housekeeping equipment and materials.
Working Environment:
Standard hospital
environment. Heavy lifting required. May be exposed to communicable diseases,
radiation or combative patients.
